The Organisation as Code (Recording)
This is my talk The Organisation as Code, given to the Wellington Architects Forum at Deloitte in Wellington on 30th September 2026.
It's about getting the work out of people's heads and writing it down so a program can check it, and what that leaves for the people who still have to sign it off.
We're sharing the whole evening un-edited, warts and all: the welcome and the round of introductions, a couple of demos that went a little sideways, and the Q&A at the end.
🔬 In this session:
- Every organisation runs on a person who knows. Writing the work down is the first step.
- Iris: living model infrastructure you can talk to through Claude, including my website, my family tree, the Government Enterprise Architecture for NZ (GEA-NZ) framework, and AI in the NZ Budget 2026.
- Gantry: take any document-heavy process; recruitment, procurement, solution design. Make the documents write themselves, the sign-off is a pull request.
- Unsorry: 9 people and their AI agents, one GitHub repo, 4,755 checked maths proofs, and no manager.
- Typesafe Jev: a new kind of AI model that marks against written criteria, with a person deciding how sure it needs to be.
